The first $2 Federal Reserve Note design! A portrait of Thomas Jefferson is on the face of this note, and a portion of the painting THE SIGNING OF The Declaration of Independence appears on the back. When a note is damaged during manufacture, it is replaced by one bearing a star beside the serial number. These notes are much scarcer than regular issues. With green Treasury seal and serial numbers, Neff-Simon signatures and Philadelphia Federal Reserve District seal. .
