1835 Capped Bust Half Dollar

Struck in 89.24% silver at the Philadelphia Mint over 170 years ago, the 1835 Capped Bust half dollar is a prized keepsake from early America. The historic design by John Reich depicts Liberty wearing a cap inscribed liberty, with tresses falling to her shoulder. The reverse bears an eagle with a shield, perched on an olive branch and clutching three arrows. The coin features unusual edge lettering, inscribed as fifty cents or half a dollar.
