1864 Confederate States of America Set (4 notes)

1864 Confederate States of America Set (4 notes)

Issued 150 years ago during the Civil War, the historic 1864 issues in this 4-note set are from the 7th and final series of Confederate currency. The face of each large size 7˝ x 3˝ note is hand signed and numbered, and honors an important Confederate figure:

  • Judah P. Benjamin, $2 – first attorney general of the Confederacy, who also served as Secretary of State and War
  • C.G. Memminger, $5 – legislator from South Carolina who served as the Confederacy’s Secretary of the Treasury
  • Robert M.T. Hunter, $10 – believed in a separate Southern nation, and served as Confederate Secretary of State
  • Jefferson Davis, $50 – expected to serve the South as a general, but ended up as president

While the $2 is uniface, the backs of the $5, $10 and $50 notes bear an intricate blue design that earned the nickname “blueback” (distinguishing them from U.S. “greenbacks”). These four Circulated notes are in great demand as genuine Civil War mementos. Our supply is limited – order today!
