1880-1913 Liberty & Indian Head Gold $5 Half Eagle Set

1880-1913 Liberty & Indian Head Gold $5 Half Eagle Set

With so much recent growth in the collecting hobby, and with precious metals so highly coveted, historic U.S. gold coins are in greater demand than ever before. That’s why these 1880’s Liberty Head and 1913 Indian Head $5 half eagles are such outstanding values for collectors. Struck in 90% gold and carefully preserved in near Mint State condition, these last two $5 half eagle designs bear just the slightest wear on the highest points yet remain affordably priced.

The Liberty Head $5 gold piece was the only coin struck at all 7 former and current U.S. Mints. These 1880’s issues, struck over 120 years ago, depict Liberty with a coronet inscribed LIBERTY – while the reverses bear an eagle with shield, the denomination (FIVE D.), and IN GOD WE TRUST on a banner above. The 1913 $5 Indian Head, struck nearly a century ago, features an incuse design with images and inscriptions recessed below the surface. The obverse depicts a Native American chief with a war bonnet, while the reverse portrays a proud, confident eagle perched on a limb.
