A lovely Gem example, with subdued pale-gold surfaces and exquisite details. To date, NGC has graded only 8 pieces at a higher level than offered here. This San Francisco-minted piece has 46 stars around the obverse to signify the states of the Union. Two more stars were added to the obverse for coins dated 1912 to 1933. The Saint-Gaudens gold piece is considered to be the most beautiful U.S. coin design.
