| 1888-S Liberty Head $5 Gold |

Description: |
The 1888-S Liberty Head $5 gold piece was struck at "the Granite Lady" - nickname of the second San Francisco Mint facility. This massive and stalwart structure would later be one of very few downtown San Francisco buildings to survive that city`s devastating 1906 earthquake and fire. The $5 Liberty Heads circulated throughout the West and were precious pocket change for cattlemen, prospectors, railroad workers and farmers.
