| 1911-S Indian Head $5 Gold |

Description: |
Mintage of the 1911-S $5 gold piece was the second highest in the entire 1908-1929 Indian Head series. Over 1.4 million 1911-S coins were struck. However, most were released into circulation or were lost to the melting pot over the years, because the 1911-S is scarcer in Uncirculated grades than some of the smaller mintage coins in the series. Featuring an incuse, or "sunken", design, this San Francisco Mint issue is a collector favorite.
