| 1889-O Morgan Silver Dollar |

Description: |
The 1889-O Morgan silver dollar was coined at the historic New Orleans Mint. This southern mint struck U.S. coins from 1838 until 1861 - a year in which it served three different "masters" - the United States, the state of Louisiana and the Confederacy. The facility again struck U.S. coins from 1879 to 1909, including the 1889-O Morgan silver dollar. This coin is a historical memento of the Gulf Coast mint, which closed for good in 1909.
