| 1976-S Eisenhower Dollar Set (3 coins), Choice Proof, PR63 |

|
Description: |
Now you can own all three Eisenhower Bicentennial Proofs of 1976. Occasionally when a new design is released, engravers make changes to improve the look. And whether the change is drastic or subtle, experienced collectors try to acquire examples of each. Low mintage and eagerly sought-after, these special Bicentennial dollar Proofs were struck at the San Francisco Mint for just two years, and feature two different lettering styles: the broad lettering of Type I and the narrower, pointed lettering of Type II, its replacement.
First released in 1975, the “Ike” Bicentennial reverse displayed the broader block letters, known as Type I, which is the scarcer of the two. Midway through the year, the U.S. Mint modified the letter. The new Type II design was used until 1977 when Eagle reverse returned. Bicentennial “Ike” dollars are always in demand because of their special reverses and unusual dual-dated obverse. You’ll enjoy all 3 mirrorlike Proofs with this handsome set, the scarcer Type I in both clad and 40% silver, and the Type II clad replacement. Each low-mintage coin is encapsulated and presented in a velour display case. Get yours today!
