Littleton Coin Company Fetes Six Top Achievers

LITTLETON – Wednesday, September 29, Littleton Coin Company recognized six conscientious employees during a special awards luncheon held at the Italian Oasis Restaurant. Littleton Coin’s chief operating officer Mike Morelli gave a brief history of Littleton Coin Company’s Quality Achievement Awards program, as well as summarized each recipient’s strengths and contribution to the company.

“The officers of the company,” Morelli noted, “created this recognition program as a more visible way of honoring employees who strive to do first-rate work and go out of their way to assist our customers. Within the coin community, Littleton quickly established a reputation for very high quality. We appreciate the fact that the superlative performance of individuals such as yourselves has been crucial to maintaining our high standards for nearly 60 years.”

Recognized for outstanding achievement and service at the event were: Jessica Ruggles, Coin Buying; Judith Mayo, Assembly; Jane Tallmadge, Order Processing; Kendra Blodgett, Analyzing; Cari Giddings, Customer Service; and Deborah Davidson, Order Filling.

The Quality Achievement Awards program, which was established seven years ago, has two phases: departmental awards, given in the spring and fall of each year, and a January “Quality Employee of the Year” award. Morelli and Ed Hennessey, chief financial officer, select the winners from a list of candidates submitted by company management. Recipients receive special certificates and an award.

Through the diligence and friendly service of employees such as those mentioned above, Littleton Coin Company has become one of the world’s largest coin and paper money mail-order operations. Founded in 1945, the company now employs more than 300 people and handles approximately 1.5 million pieces of mail annually.
