LITTLETONOn September 21st, Littleton Coin Company honored five outstanding employees at an awards luncheon held at the Italian Oasis Restaurant. During the event, Mike Morelli, chief operating officer, provided background information about the evolution of LCC’s Quality Achievement Award program.
“The other officers and I wanted a more visible way to recognize employees who have shown how much they care about their customers and the quality of the work they do,” noted Morelli. “So we created this award program.”
Recognized for superior achievement and service at the event were: Beth Miller-Clark, Outbound Fulfillment; Rhiannon Moyer, Order Processing; Bee Horsch, Analyzing; Michelle Authier, Customer Service; Diane McLain, Coin Inventory; and Denise Young, Coin Processing.
Established in 1997, the awards program has two phases departmental awards, given in the spring and fall of each year, and a January “Quality Employee of the Year” award. Morelli and Ed Hennessey, chief financial officer, select the winners from a list of candidates submitted by company management. Recipients receive special certificates of recognition, a cash award, and a luncheon in their honor.
Through the attentive service of employees such as these, Littleton Coin Company has become one of the largest buyers and sellers of coins and paper money in the world. Based in Littleton, New Hampshire, the company was founded by Maynard Sundman in 1945. Now in its 60th year, it employs over 300 people, providing friendly service to collectors around the globe.
