Struck over 180 years ago at the Philadelphia Mint, the pure copper 1826 Classic Head half cent is an official keepsake from the early United States. Designed by John Reich, the coin features Liberty with flowing curled hair secured by a band inscribed liberty. She is surrounded by 13 stars representing the original colonies, and the date is seen below. The reverse bears a wreath that encircles the denomination. The nation`s official name is inscribed around the border.
