The 1876-S Liberty Seated half dollar was struck in 90% silver at the San Francisco Mint, and bears the popular "S" mint mark below the eagle on the reverse. The obverse of the coin depicts Liberty seated on a rock. This 1876-S half dollar circulated throughout the West Coast region of the country, and was precious pocket change for early settlers of California, as well as for other colorful and adventurous figures of the old American West!
