The long-running Liberty Seated motif is found on U.S. quarters of 1838-1891. Designed by U.S. Mint engraver Christian Gobrecht, these quarters depict Liberty seated on a rock. She holds a liberty cap in her left hand, and her right hand rests on a shield. The reverse features an eagle with a shield on its breast. The eagle is perched on an olive branch and grasps three arrows in its talons. Get the historic 1877-S Liberty Seated quarter today.
