Recall the great Allied victory in World War II with this complete Uncirculated set of 1945 PDS Lincoln Wheat cents – issued the year the Axis Powers of Germany and Japan laid down their arms and surrendered to the Allies. These “victory year” coins from the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco Mints were struck in bronze containing recycled cartridge cases from military training facilities. The 1944-1946 “shell casing” cents saved hundreds of tons of copper for the war effort.
All three 1945 Wheat cents in this set have been carefully preserved for nearly seventy years in collector-preferred mint Uncirculated condition, so you can fully appreciate sculptor Victor David Brenner’s beloved image of Abraham Lincoln and the original Wheat Ears reverse. The set will be a prized upgrade or addition to your Lincoln cents, or the cornerstone of a new Lincoln cent collection (shell casings shown are not included).
