Beautiful 1895-1928 French silver Piastres display a seated figure that looks remarkably similar to the Statue of Liberty, but it’s Marianne – symbol of the republic of France. This attractive silver coin was first struck at the Paris Mint a year before the Statue of Liberty was scheduled for completion. It was later produced at the San Francisco Mint for issue in French Indo-China (Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam). This large coin, struck in 90% silver, is now at least 80 years old. As such, it deserves a special place in your collection. Date our choice.
