This historic stock certificate issued by International Mercantile Marine Company (IMMC) from 1930-1949, and hand signed by its officers, is a prized collector’s item from the owners of the RMS Titanic!
Bankrolled by legendary financier J.P. Morgan, IMMC sought to monopolize the shipping trade by combining several lines – including the White Star Line which built three identical large-sized ships including the Titanic. Measuring nearly 3 football fields in length, the RMS Titanic sank on its maiden voyage after striking an iceberg in the North Atlantic on April 14, 1912. Because lifeboat capacity was severely inadequate, there were only 706 survivors out of 2,223 passengers and crew.
In 1985, the wreck of the Titanic was discovered under 12,500 feet of water about 400 miles off Newfoundland, and salvaged items are among the most highly valued in history. But you can now own a genuine artifact from the owners of the RMS Titanic today! The central vignette on the IMMC stock certificate features a Titanic-style ship, while the lower illustration depicts a young woman in a nautical setting. Add this prized piece of shipping history to your collection today!
